Read the source, not the summary
Litter boxes, feeders, water fountains and indoor potties for cats and dogs, every figure dated and sourced.
Find the right litter boxThe gap we work in
Owners already wrote the failure report. Almost nobody indexed it.
When we mined public negative reviews for smart pet hardware, the same handful of complaints came up again and again. These are counts of mentions across Amazon US reviews, sampled between July 2025 and June 2026, published in the 2026 global market strategy report by Ries.
We publish the specification and the complaint record side by side, so a radio that only does 2.4 GHz, a waste bin that needs emptying every day, or a one-year warranty on a machine that lasts three years is visible before you buy.

17 products, each record carrying the source and the date it was read.
15 of the records are sold for cats and 8 for dogs, and 6 of them are sold for both. The animal a product is made for is a fact about the product, so the same record serves both readers. Nothing on this site changes because of where you are reading it from.

What is in the record
Up to forty fields per product, and a date on every one of them.
A record holds the waste bin volume, the cat weight range, the entry height, the measured noise where a manufacturer publishes it, the radio band, the warranty length, the price on the day we read it, and the complaint counts that came with it. Where a figure is not published we leave it empty and say so. We never fill a gap with an estimate.
Straight answers
Do you test the products you review? Not yet, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Today The Pet Docket publishes manufacturer specifications, dated retail listings and documented owner complaints, each with the source and the date we read it. When our bench is running we will publish first-party measurements here, clearly marked as ours and dated.
How is this different from a hundred other review sites? Most "best of" lists rank on star averages. Star averages hide the specific failure that will end your ownership experience: a 2.4 GHz-only radio, a 6.7 litre bin that needs emptying every day, a one-year warranty on a machine that lasts three. We publish the specification and the complaint record side by side, so you can see what owners actually hit.
Why is there no star rating on your pages? Because we have not measured these products ourselves. Publishing a score we did not earn would be a lie we could not cite. We show the owner review signal where it was published and dated, and we label who produced it.
How do you make money? Some links are affiliate links. If you buy something through one of our links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes which products we list, how we order them, or what we say about them. Full detail is on our disclosure page.
Can I use your data in my own project? Yes. The dataset is published as JSON with a documented schema and an open endpoint, and the endpoints are described in an OpenAPI document. Use it, cite it, and tell us what you found.
